Children and Young People Network

This is a network for staff and volunteers from CVSF member organisations working with children, young people & families. Participants share information and good practice and support Forum representatives to local partnerships on CYP issues. The Network is a key point of contact for partnership work with the Brighton & Hove Children & Young People's Trust (CYPT).

Representatives:

We have over 44 elected representatives on 25 CYPT partnership groups including nine area based Extended Schools Cluster Steering Groups. For more information go to our reps page.

Current work:

We are currently working with the CYPT Partnership to promote its Core Skills & Knowledge Programme including an 'E-Safeguarding' basic level course with local training organisation, Safety-Net. For more information on this go to our training pages.

With Safety Net we recently did a Safeguarding Survey of practices in Brighton and Hove, which can be downloaded here.

We are also facilitating consultations on the new plans for  Youth Service commissioning and the restructuring of the Extended Schools Clusters (please click here for the papers - deadline for responses 26 Feb 2010).

We have been involved in inputting and consulting on the People's Development Strategy, which sets out the vision for all people working with children and young people in Brighton and Hove. For more information please go to our People's Development Strategy page

The BRighton & Hove CYP Plan for  2009-12 is now available in an interactive version, with web-links to help users access more information. You can access it here (see bottom of page).
