The LINk
What is the LINk?
The LINk (Local Involvement Network) is a brand new local, powerful, independent network of people and organisations, which gives Brighton and Hove residents and groups a stronger voice on health and social care issues.
Who can Get Involved?
Anyone who lives in the Brighton & Hove area, or uses health and social care services in that area.
In order to ensure that the LINk remains independent, employees of statutory organisations which provide health and social care services (like the City Council and local Primary Care Trust) are not eligible to vote or to sign up as participants of the LINk. However they are welcome to participate as observers, and may be able to join up as individuals in their own right, if this is separate from their job. Please contact us to discuss.

LINk Launch Event
Thank you to everyone who came along to the LINk launch event on 22nd October 2008 at the Jubilee Library. We held the event twice on that day to enable as many people to attend as possible.
Guest speaker Simon Hubbard urged everyone who finds that life has 'handed them a lemon' to try and see the positive side. He talked about how he has managed to put his experiences as a service user to good use and is helping other people in similar situations.
As well as our guest speaker, there were interesting questions and answers sessions and workshops. The workshops considered mental health and adult social care issues.
A report of the day will be available here soon.
Link Stakeholder Event
A successful stakeholder event kickstarted the work of the LINK in Summer 2008. See the events page for more details.
