Gimme Shelter
What can be done about the housing problems facing our city?
Housing will be the hot topic of debate at a public meeting organised by the Community and Voluntary Sector Forum as part of the Stronger Communities Programme, taking place at Dorset Gardens Methodist Church next Tuesday evening (6 - 8pm). The aim of the meeting is to find out how the community and voluntary sector can play a positive role in solving some of the City's housing problems so that these ideas can be reported back to housing providers, the council and others.
Affordability, tenant management organisations and housing co-operatives are all on the agenda for a lively discussion, and a number of housing experts will be on hand to help answer specific questions.
The event is free to attend and is open to anyone who works for a community or voluntary group or charity or is involved in housing in Brighton and Hove.
