Recession Action Planning
CVSF and other partners in the ChangeUp Consortium, including Brighton and Hove City Council, are developing an action plan for the third sector in recession. Work date has looked at identifying what the issues are and what priorities need to be addressed.
Position Statements, June 2009
The CVSF brought together its members to look at how the recession is affecting their work. The results can be seen in the position statement, Impact of the recession on the local community and third sector.
CVSF members have also been discussing how the commissioning in the city could be improved, which is more important than ever in the context of the economic downturn. CVSF has developed a background paper on commissioning, including a position statement on CVSF members' views.
Research Report, June 2009
A report, Resilience and the Recession: How is the Third Sector Managing, looks at how the picture has changed since Taking Account: the economic and social audit of the third sector was carried out in 2008.
Don't Get Burnt Conference, June 2009
A conference, 'Don't Get Burnt', was held in June to bring together the third sector, businesses and local government, to find better ways of sharing their expertise and work together to support the city and its residents during and beyond recession.
